Boat Handling
Tacking, gybing and bearing away form the basis of nearly all the manoeuvring you will put your boat through. Initially you will just want skills enough to sail your boat more or less in the right direction, but in time you’ll be looking to hone boat handling skills and improve race performance.
These are one-design classes and it’s not too difficult to make one go as fast as another in a straight line. It’s the corners that make a difference, so get a little bit of practice in every time you hit the water.
DF65s will happily sit in irons all day - very frustrating if you don't know how to get your boat back in sailing mode. Practice getting your boat quickly out of irons as well.
